Hi perfects,
There are projects that I will always remember, and this was one of them. I met the little Lucas while D. was still pregnant of him, the first son and first grandchild on both sides. The real (good) madness at their home! A loving family, joyful, fun and, of course, a little bit anxious waiting for the baby doll. A mother who was clearly building the nest and a father, such a dear, willing to make his wife happy, but sometimes a little bit confused with that whirlwind of changes throughout the house. A scenario that is quite common. :) This baby boy was born in August and the month before the holidays is almost as the month before Christmas, quite crazy at work, because many suppliers close in August and I also take a few days off . :)
The mother took part in the choices too, she wanted to go shopping with me (I have to confess that I am not very used to it. I usually take more decisions alone, I present the ideas, the concept and then choose the final details.) :) The grandmother also participated in making some details for the room. I found all of this quite lovely, as it implied I had to make some adjustments and to listen to the mum's concerns and needs. We have even made some pretty funny DIY: the mobile - the little planes were flying everywhere when they were painted ;) and balloons pulling the name Lucas, which eventually added something special to this project.
Still, baby Lucas' mother, let me finish the whole decor of the room without seeing it, so that she could be surprised at the end. When she saw the result, she thanked me, hugged me with tears in her eyes and said, 'Son, you can be born, everything is ready for you!' (hope I'm not being too indiscreet D.!) :(. The truth is that what I love most in the interior design, besides the entire creative process, idea generation, or the research, is really watching the joy of my clients. Their face looking at everything, at every detail, the expectations put on that new space. I'm a 'crybaby' who did not know what to do! I didn't want to cry ... next to me was a pregnant women, almost in the end of the pregnancy, and I know it's not time for big thrills! Everything went well, Lucas is a lovely, perfect, a sweet (at least for me, as I don't have to wake up in the night to give you milk!!) ... but you can see in that in the pictures that have been taken when he was 3 month old! Super Love.
Concerning the colors chosen, D. didn't wanted to choose the traditional baby blue and loved the balloons' fabric collection, which has various shades of blue, lime and water green. Untraditional colors in a nursery, but that result beautifully and very harmonious. Also, allow parents to give a sister to little because as it works for both genders. I was very happy with the result. Do you like it? If you have question, please let me know!
